Powerstrap II
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009Ok after the first set I created although they worked brilliantly, I felt they weren’t thick enough and as a result have slightly stretched. The holes where they were fastened to the pedal haven’t been effected, which is good news! I was worried they may tear from the bolt.
Anyway this time I went on the hunt for something thicker my mission was a skate style belt! I went into lots of second hand stores and found the perfect width size, thickness and colour skate belt, a bargain at £2…
So I removed the old set and got to work on the new ones, I first measured the old ones and left my self some extra and cut 2 equal lengths from the belt. I then sealed each end of the strap by heating with a lighter to prevent fraying. I then folded the end in half measured approx. 10mm in and melted a hole right through with an old skate truck bolt allen key which I heated on the gas hob.
I then threaded the strap through folded and bolted it through the pre-made hole with a skateboard truck bolt (they have nylock nuts which don’t rattle undone very easy) and washer.
I then threaded the other end through the last hole at the back of the pedal and pulled through. I then stuck on my vans which I always ride in and placed my foot in the pedal and pulled the strap through and got my prefered tightness. I then marked the strap, made two new holes in the strap in the same way as before removed any excess and bolted the strap down… easy
New Charge Scissor Prototype
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009This is the frame and forks Ted told me was coming out this year! it looks pretty awesome… now I’m really confused over what frame to get?? I like this colour way its pretty fresh although its not finalised and I’m preferring the geometry on this to the Plug! we at EFG like charge bikes so we can’t wait for the final release of this! I want! I want!
